Our Electronic Von Frey System is easy to use for rapid determination of mechanical sensitivity threshold in rodents. The Von Frey filament is applied against the central edge of the animal's paw and paw withdrawal caused by the stimulation is registered as a response. The corresponding force applied is recorded by the system and shown on the display screen with a resolution of 0.1g. The design allows for highly reporducible data and threshold values can be obtained in a single test.
This system is designed for use with rats and includes the Von Frey unit, 10 disposable plastic tips, 1 spring tip for thresholds between 0 and 10 grams, footswitch, and carrying case. Optional data acquisition software is also available separately.
